A two-axis stabilised cooled-MWIR and HD colour sight for identification at range. Where DRISHTI-360 finds the contact, NETRA-TI is what you slew to it to decide what it is and what it is doing.
The problem
What this exists to solve.
Panoramic detection answers 'is something there'. It rarely answers 'is that a trawler working her nets or a craft closing on my beam'. Identification at 10–25 km needs a narrow field of view, a cooled detector and stabilisation good enough that the image does not smear in a seaway — three things a fixed wide-angle head cannot give you.
Our approach
How NETRA-TI handles it.
NETRA-TI pairs a cooled mid-wave detector with a continuous-zoom HD colour channel on a two-axis gyro-stabilised gimbal. It accepts slew-to-cue from DRISHTI-360 or ARPA: a track handed over is on the reticle in under two seconds, then held by video auto-track while the operator makes the call.
Capability
What it does well.
Slew-to-cue in under two seconds
Hand a DRISHTI-360 or ARPA track across and the sight is on it before the operator has finished turning.
Holds through occlusion
The tracker carries a target through swell blanking and rain squalls without dropping the lock.
Two channels, one decision
Thermal and day imagery are registered to the same optical axis, so the operator reads both without re-acquiring.
Emission-free
Wholly passive. Nothing radiates, so nothing is detected in return.
