What it is like
Deep-tech pace, hardware consequences.
Software you can revise on Tuesday. A masthead assembly on a ship in a yard in Mumbai you cannot. That difference shapes how we work: more design review, more testing, and a strong bias toward being sure before we ship.
You will go to sea. You will spend time in shipyards. You will meet the people who use what you built, which is a privilege most software engineers never get.

- Field exposure. Everyone, including researchers, goes on trials.
- Honest engineering culture. We publish our failures internally and treat them as the interesting part.

Where we need people.
Senior Perception Engineer
Detection and tracking on stitched panoramic imagery. You will own model architecture, training pipeline and the evaluation harness. Strong PyTorch, real deployment experience, and comfort with the fact that your model will be judged at sea rather than on a benchmark.
Embedded Systems Engineer
Marine edge compute: GMSL2 ingest, thermal design, power conditioning for a ship's bus, and the unglamorous reliability work that decides whether a system survives its second monsoon.
Marine Integration Engineer
Fit, align, calibrate and commission on real hulls in real yards. Expect significant travel to Mumbai, Kochi and Visakhapatnam, and a fair amount of time in a boiler suit.
Data Operations Lead
Own the annotated marine dataset: collection campaigns across the seasonal cycle, annotation quality, class balance, and the honest measurement of where our distribution is thin.
Programme Manager, Defence
Navigate iDEX, DISC, SPRINT and Make-II routes end to end. Prior exposure to defence procurement or a service background is genuinely valuable here.
Applied Research Intern
For final-year and postgraduate students in vision, robotics or ocean engineering. Real problems, real data, and a supervisor who has time for you.
