Swadeshi
Make in India, measured honestly.
Indigenisation is a percentage, not a slogan. Here is where our bill of materials actually stands and what we are doing about the gaps.
Position
A badge should mean something.
Plenty of companies apply a Make in India mark to a product that is assembled here from a wholly imported bill of materials. We think that devalues the programme and, eventually, the companies inside it.
So we publish our position. Design, software, models, training data, integration, test and support are entirely in-country. Mechanical, enclosure, harnessing and power electronics are domestically sourced. Uncooled thermal cores and standard CMOS sensors are currently imported under qualified supply agreements. Cooled MWIR detectors are imported, and will be for some time.
| Element | Status |
|---|---|
| System design & architecture | In-country |
| Perception models & training data | In-country |
| Software, SDK, rule engine | In-country |
| Enclosures, mounts, harnessing | Domestic supply |
| Power electronics, carrier boards | Domestic assembly |
| Integration, test & support | In-country |
| CMOS image sensors | Imported |
| Uncooled LWIR cores | Imported |
| Cooled MWIR detectors | Imported |
| AI inference silicon | Imported |
Indicative status for orientation. Programme-specific indigenous content calculations are provided formally against the applicable Defence Acquisition Procedure or public-procurement definition on request.
National programmes
The frameworks we align to.
These programmes shape how maritime and defence technology gets funded, procured and inducted in India. We build to fit them deliberately.
The tiles above are original typographic references to publicly announced Government of India programmes, used descriptively to indicate alignment. They are not official emblems. The official marks of Make in India, Startup India, Digital India and related programmes are protected and are used only under written authorisation from the administering department.
Make in India & Atmanirbhar Bharat
The manufacturing and self-reliance programmes that frame the whole indigenisation push. For defence electro-optics specifically, positive indigenisation lists progressively close import routes for named sub-systems, creating a defined domestic window that a company like ours has to be ready for before it opens, not after.
Startup India & Udyam MSME
DPIIT recognition and Udyam registration matter practically, not decoratively: they determine eligibility for public procurement preferences, tender fee and EMD relaxations, and several defence innovation routes that are restricted to recognised startups and MSMEs.
iDEX, DISC and SPRINT
Innovations for Defence Excellence, implemented through the Defence Innovation Organisation, is the structured route from a service problem statement to a funded prototype. The SPRINT track, run with the Navy's innovation organisation, is specifically aimed at getting indigenous technology into the fleet quickly. These are the natural procurement rails for most of our range.
Sagarmala & Maritime India Vision 2030
Port-led development and the ten-year maritime roadmap, driving a large multi-year pipeline of port modernisation, logistics and digitisation projects — which is where our port and harbour work sits.
Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047
The long-horizon programme setting out several hundred action points to place India among the world's leading maritime and shipbuilding nations by the centenary of independence, backed by substantial announced investment across ports, shipbuilding, coastal shipping and green shipping.
Digital India & the National Geospatial Policy
Liberalised geospatial data policy and the wider digitisation programme, which together make indigenous marine mapping and feature extraction a viable domestic business rather than a licensing exercise.
The substitution path
What we are working toward.
Detector-level indigenisation is a long programme and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can do meanwhile is keep every layer above the detector — optics integration, calibration, models, fusion, decision logic, compute integration and support — wholly in-country, and design our products so that a domestic detector can be substituted when one becomes qualified, without a redesign.
